On May 24, Sarah Piazza, running 24:22 on a flat but windy course, led the NHRR women to a decisive win in the women’s open division of the Delaney Dash.   Her time placed her 3rd among all women in the race.  Kristi Schuette (24:55, 5th place women’s open) and Amanda Pellowe (25:37, 6th place women’s open) also ran strong races to round out NHRR’s top 3 women.     The men finished 4th in the male’s open division, led by Eugene Douglass, who finished 8th overall in 22:12, a personal best for the event.   Nathan Kucera (22:54, 15th overall) and Brian Korody (23:04, 16th overall) also ran well and were joined by NHRR rookies Ben Carlson (25:20) and Richard Andreozzi (29:26) in NHRR’s top five men.   View the results at this link:   2014 Delaney Dash Results

newbalanceAmanda Pellowe, NHRR’s middle distance specialist, set a personal record for the 1500 meters run Saturday night during the New Balance Boston Twilight Series, held at Bentley College.  Her time of 4:45.08 placed her 8th in a field that included US Olympian Anna Willard and several other professional athletes.

danburyIn the third race of the 2014 USATF-CT Grand Prix Series, the Danbury Half Marathon, the NHRR women took the top three individual places assuring their teams overall win! Though not quite in full force (with the Boston Marathon around the corner), the NHRR men also took a team win and had several standout individual performances.

winterwonderIn the first race of the 2014 USATF-CT Grand Prix Series, The Winder Wonderland 5 Miler, the NHRR women took first while the men took second to Mancester Running Company.

Other notable performances include Bryce, Sarah, Amanda and Oscar who all cracked the top ten (fourth, fourth, seventh and ninth, respectively) and Brian and Roberto who both missed a PR by one second!

2013 Monroe Trail Race Results

chicagoThe 2013 fall marathon season opened for NHRR with several PR’s and impressive debuts. First, on September 29th at the Robin Hood Half Marathon Ludovic ran a huge PR 1:14:48 in the half-marathon. A couple weeks later Brian posted a 4-minute PR at the Chicago marathon with a time of 2:40:47. Simultaneously, Diana, Nasser and Rachel all had their marathoning debuts at the Hartford marathon in times of 3:16:35, 4:28:14 and 4:38:45, respectively.

nhrr2013In the eighth race of the 2013 USATF-CT Grand Prix Series, the New Haven 20k, the NHRR Masters Men took first while the Open Men and Women’s teams both placed second. Fortunately the Open Men’s second place finish was enough to clinch an over all victory in the 2013 USATF-CT Grand Prix.
